It
was a week before classes start in college when I told mom that I need to buy a school
planner. Good thing, I saw my idol's post on Instagram about her planner giveaway.
Ms. Laureen Uy made a school planner that's perfectly fit for every college student, and even for the young professionals who would like to keep track of their schedule and stay organized with their daily agenda. I
checked the posts under #BeTheBestYouPlanner and saw comments that it
costs 499.75php. Compared to other planners being sold in the leading bookstores, this one's quite expensive. I was just planning to buy a
simple planner that costs 195php but now I that I have seen this, I badly want
to have my hand on it.
As I scrolled down the posts, I saw that Ms. Laureen will be giving away 5 planners for free. There are two photos that have to be regrammed and a question "Why do you want this planner?" must be answered. Since I don't want to spend that much, I joined the contest and answered the question in the best way possible. Kinareer ko talaga 'yun! So I regrammed the photo and answered the question. I
waited for two days. I told myself that if I win, then I'll get to have
the chance to meet Ms. Laureen, get a free planner, and be
the first in line to have it signed by her. Isn't that such a wonderful
deal? Haha! But if I don't win, I'll just settle with the Candy School Planner
that only costs 195php.
It was Tuesday night when
I saw a notification pop up on my lock screen. It was an Instagram post that I thought was just a comment on one of my posts, but surprisingly, this was what I saw:
I told my mom that we should ready ourselves because I will finally be meeting Ms. Laureen Uy. This time, it's not only for a picture, but for a book signing-- up close and personal.
The
big day came and I finally saw her. Indeed, she is a fashion icon that can flawlessly carry a challenging outfit from head to toe.
I met the other winners of the giveaway and started having a conversation with them. After some minutes, we've decided to approach Ms. Laureen. We were surprised when she even introduced us to her blogger besties. I mean it when I say I got star-strucked.
A few minutes have already passed for everything to be settled. The program started with a mini talk show of Ms. Laureen and Ms. Nicole Anderson featuring the #BeTheBestYouPlanner that Ms. Laureen
made in collaboration with Stradmore Notes.
There was also an OOTD game. Siyempre, hindi ko pinalampas yun! The winner will get a 3k worth of GCs. So the three of us (winners) joined the game. There's a standee of a model that must be dressed up within one minute. The first contestant was not able to finish the look within one minute so my turn came right after. Of course, I made sure that I'll finish it. I chose a pastel blue cropped top and a pair of pastel pink trousers. I topped it off with a black bowler hat and a Valentino studded heels. (I can see that David was looking at me....jk) The 3rd contestant chose a printed dress, black bowler hat, and black pumps. (I didn't get to take a picture of it because I was still on stage.)

Laureen
announced the winner. This is what she said: "Based on my personal
style (which is pastels), I would chose outfit number 2!" Yay! I was called back on stage to receive a 3,000php worth of
gift certificate for TGI Fridays.
The event ended around 6pm. We asked to roamed around the venue and asked to have pictures with David Guison,
Camille Co, and Lissa Kahayon. I was also able to interview Ms. Lissa Kahayon about dressing up for school especially in college. I was
surprised to know that she was also a former Scholastican! We even
talked about Mr. and Mrs. Isidro which were also her teachers back in her high school days.

I
was the first in line during the book signing. I also asked Ms. Laureen
the same question- tips on choosing the right college wardrobe. She told me to
invest on the basics since it's a university and we don't have to look so fancy on school days. Remember the number 1 rule: comfort and style go together. (More about it soon on my next blog post).
