Finally,
my phone has resurrected!! After 4 days of loneliness and patience, my
iPhone 5c is now working properly. Let me give you a background of what
happened. I was at the resort last friday, excitedly dipped into the
pool, with my monopod on the left hand, fixing my phone using the other
hand. I didn't notice that it was not stable yet, and of course I trust
my monopod so much that I didn't bother checking it again. (Trust issues
guys) Haha!
But kidding aside, let's go back to what happened. My phone did a backflip into the pool, on the 5ft deep area. I was struggling to pick it up. Good thing two men hurriedly jumped to help me (maybe they thought I was drowning or what). When he got my phone, I was like holding a dead body. It was completely wet and the only things that the screen projects are violet, green, and black lines. FORTUNATELY my mom did not get mad immediately, but tried to understand and comfort me instead. I was shaking, not knowing what to do. I gently threw my phone into the grass where my clothes are settled under the tree. I wiped the screen and jumped to the pool again. I swam, I told myself I should enjoy that day. I can't help but think about it, if it would still function, and worse, what summer jobs I could apply to to gather money to buy a new one or for repair expenses. I got up the pool and went back to my phone. I removed the case and sim card. I wiped it off and let it dry. I was really sad the whole day. I felt like the trip was incomplete because I don't have enough pictures to post on my blog and videos for my Vlog. Raaaaaar!! Plus the very hot weather? What more could I ask for!

I
immediately researched in youtube and google if there is something I
could do to recover my phone. Most videos demonstrate opening the phone
unit and removing some cable wires. Duh? I don't know anything about
those technical stuff and screw drivers. Big thanks to the forum in apple.com
for the stories of other iPhone users with the same scenario. That is
where I discovered the RICE METHOD. Check this out to see the set up.
TRY YOUR BEST TO WAIT UNTIL THE 5TH DAY. Patience is the key.
But of course, they best thing you should do is not to use a monopod on the pool. Go buy a waterproof cam phone or a go pro
I was laughing hard when I saw another person doing what I just did. Ingat, ate!
Youtube video that helped me a lot!
I know friends who have used the rice method to 'dry out' their iPhone, glad it worked for you. I tried this when it happened to my iPhone, but it didn't work. Instead I took it to my local phone shop and they managed to get it working again for me, with a 90 day warranty. Such a huge relief.

Good to know that you still have your 90 day warranty and you got your phone back to its proper condition. :) Thanks for reading my blog, Ms. Clara!
